How to play

Press Start. A cloud of dots appears for about a second, then four numbers; tap the one that matches, or press 1 to 4. Right answers score ten points times your streak, up to five times. A miss resets the streak and costs three seconds. The clouds get bigger and flash shorter as you get better.

Why it works

Humans see up to about four dots instantly and estimate the rest. Group the dots into clusters of four or five and add: with practice your estimates get sharp fast, and that is the whole game.
